Sang-sun Sin was born in Ganagawa-Hyeon in Japan in 1931.
She finished primary school in Japan and graduated at Masan Girl's Highschool in Gyeongnam province in 1951.
When she was a highschool student, she learned embroidery from Artisan Nan-cho Kim in Masan. And with this chance, she started to be interested in traditional embrodery.
She has been collecting various kinds of legacies related with embroidery and trying to reappear them since 1960. And in 1978, she was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education.
Then, she could do publicity activities to show the beauty of Korean embroidery. "Folding screen with flowers and birds embrodery", "Shibjangsaeng Folding screen", "Baekdongjado folding screen" are her representative pieces.
And she established Jasuwon 'Hwarangongbang" in 1971 and has taught students and studied about embroidery since then.
