  The purpose of this festival is to pay tribute to the greatness of works in various areas such as politics, economics, society, and culture done by Yak-yong Jung (pen name: Dasan). He, born in Namyangju, Gyunggi-Do is a great historical figure in the late of Chosun Dynasty who integrated diverse threads of practical science and completed this school of study, which led the movement for reformation in that period of time. In Dasan Culture Festival, there are a number of cultural events prepared to appreciate the scholastic ideology and the people-oriented spirit of Dasan.
